When should I open or close the small vent on the back of my PK360 PK360 Charcoal Grill & Smoker – Cast Aluminum, 4-Vent Precision Control (Classic Silver)

I have the small vent with two holes on the back of my PK360. Curious when and how I should be using it.

The vent on the back of the PK360 is actually a temperature probe access door, designed for use with digital thermometers. This feature allows you to monitor internal food temperatures without losing heat. For optimal performance, we recommend keeping the vent closed when not in use.
